Abstrak

Virus dengue penyebab demam berdarah yang sangat mematikan masih belum teratasi. Prevalensinya sangat tinggi. Sejauh ini, cara memutus rantai penularannya dengan memberantas vektornya. Pengendalian kimia yang diterapkan menimbulkan banyak kerugian, sehingga bahan aktif ekstrak lidah buaya dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif insektisida alami lebih aman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan konsentrasi ekstrak Aloe vera sebagai larvasida. 

Desain eksperimental dengan post test only controlled group design, sampel 600 ekor larva instar III, dalam 4 kelompok, 6 replikasi (kontrol negatif, ekstrak 10%, ekstrak 20%, ekstrak 30%). Teknik sampel dengan metode purposive sampling. Larva dimasukan dalam campuran ekstrak uji sebanyak 100 ml. Pengamatan dilakukan 60 menit setelah pemberian perlakuan dan dihitung jumlah kematian larva.

Persentase jumlah kematian larva 60 menit setelah pemberian perlakuan adalah 0% pada kontrol, 69,2% pada ekstrak 10%, 76% pada ekstrak 20%, 86,6% pada ekstrak 30%. Diperoleh hasil dengan perbedaan yang signifikan pada kelompok perlakuan. Larutan ekstrak Lidah buaya bersifat larvasida terhadap Aedes aegyti.
